Who are we?
EMLC, a charity specialising in the advancement of education though leadership, has a track record of providing leadership development to individuals and schools locally, regionally and nationally. EMLC is the sponsoring organisation of the EMLC Academies Trust and is responsible for working with individual schools and the Department for Education to identify schools that will become part of the Trust.EMLC believes in collaborative working to add capability and capacity, EMLC works with its partner organisation Third Wave Enterprises who have a structured framework of interventions led by practitioners to ensure sustainable high performing school improvement at a pace.
EMLC Academies Trust has been approved by the Department for Education to sponsor academies. EMLC Academies Trust will specialise in Primary Academies which is an area of expertise. We will use networks of outstanding school leaders and outstanding schools to support underperforming schools, moving good schools to great schools and satisfactory schools to good schools. Schools within the Trust will work in triads, with an outstanding schools moored with two supported schools within their local area. As schools improve they in turn will support others so that strong networks of schools will grow organically which are focussed on high standards and sharing excellent practice.
What do we believe in?
Our schools will:
·Provide inspirational leadership at all levels in the school.
·Have an unremitting focus on high standards for all pupils no matter what their background.
·Ensure that all teachers in the Trust are at least consistently good and are moving towards outstanding.
·Provide a broad and inspirational curriculum that is focussed on engaging the pupils in their own learning motivating them to achieve, ensuring that English and Maths are central to their learning.
·Be committed to the Academy being at the centre of the local community as well as being a part of the wider community of Trust schools.
·Become a hub of excellence sharing this expertise with other schools in the Trust and beyond.
How will we work?
EMLC Academies Trust will work with their schools to develop networks of outstanding and supported schools with outstanding leaders supporting leaders, outstanding practitioners supporting practitioners: creating a sustainable school improvement system.
The Trust will provide the schools with effective and efficient infrastructure support thus allowing the school to focus on their core business of delivering high standards of attainment, excellent leadership and consistent high quality teaching and learning.
