Effective Influencing

The ability to influence others is one of the most sophisticated tools available in human communication and, if used with integrity, it can effect lasting change in the hearts and minds of individuals, groups and organisations. The focus of this day is on helping leaders to understand the complexities of good communication and of influencing others in a productive way

EI PicThis skills day provides an opportunity to work with others and actively enhance participants’ approach to influencing. It will suggest behavioural, motivational and planning techniques, and theoretical models, that can be used both in ordinary, day-to-day school practice and in influencing in the broader world, which may include other schools, governors and parents, other agencies and external networks.

The workshop will:

  • help participants tease out the thinking approaches and behaviours that constitute effective influencing and identify their own development needs
  • take participants beyond the level of behaviour into people’s underlying motivations and beliefs and, through this, help them become more effective at influencing
  • introduce participants to a range of accessible techniques and models to enhance their capability in the area of influencing, and put each technique or model into practice to help embed learning
  • give participants the opportunity to try out their skills and thinking with others, and learn from those who may well have similar influencing challenges

It was a very good event – a mix of philosophical and discussion with practical sessions

Currently we are offering this day for £175 or you can book this session as well as another session at our discounted rate of £300 for a limited time only.

N.B the fee for Leadership Pathways already covers the cost of two skills days. You only pay for a third or fourth day.
