National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML)

EMLC is proud to be an accredited provided of the National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership (NPQML). As an experienced provider of leadership development, we offer a high-quality programme designed and led by educational professionals.

The EMLC programme will:

  • Stimulate and challenge your thinking about leadership.
  • Build on your key skills and knowledge.
  • Promote and improve your leadership behaviours and capabilities.
  • Able to lead successful, sustainable school improvement in school.

Who is it for?

NPQML is for those who are, or are aspiring to become, a middle leader with responsibility for Leading a Team such as, key stage leaders, curriculum leaders, pastoral service leader, subject leaders, SEND coordinators, heads of department or for those with whole school responsibilities e.g. SLEs.

Guided Learning Hours

The expected number of guided learning hours for the NPQML is 121

Funding

Funding is available to support teachers and leaders working in opportunity areas and category 5 and category 6 areas to take the new NPQs.

This funding will cover full course costs, and all teachers and leaders in these areas are eligible for this funding (provided they have not already studied for the NPQ for which they are applying). You should contact EMLC for further details on how to access this funding.

How to Book Your Programme – What Happens Next

If you are not sure whether this is the right programme for you get in touch with us. Call us on the number at the bottom of the page or complete the contact form and we will get back to you as soon as we can.

If this is the programme then this is what happens next:

  • Register your interest so that we have your details and can keep you informed. Contact us with any questions.
  • Complete the application form that you will find at the bottom of the page.
  • Once we have received your application, we will check it for completeness and accuracy.
  • We will then confirm that you have been accepted on to the programme.
  • We run the programme in ‘cohorts’ so that we have a group of similar people who will work at a similar rate and can support each other, exchanging ideas and sharing experiences.

We will expect payment on acceptance of your place. This may be through a scholarship, funding through your school, or self-funded.
