These terms and conditions are for EMLC participants of the NPQ programme.
Funding for programmes
All programme fees must be paid in full prior to commencement of the programme. Please refer to our website for our current pricing structure..
EMLC will invoice the participant or school (as appropriate) if the participant does not qualify for a scholarship. Invoices are payable within 14 days or prior to commencement of the programme, whichever is the soonest.
EMLC will apply for scholarship funding from the Department for Education on behalf of participants, where appropriate, however we cannot guarantee that the application will be successful. It can take several months for the DfE to process an application for a funded scholarship.
If the DfE reject the scholarship application the participant will become liable for the cost of the programme, however the participants’ school may pay on their behalf. Normally all our programmes should be paid for up-front but in this situation we defer to our 14 day payment terms.
Re-arrangement of Face to Face sessions
Participants are requested to give at least two weeks’ notice if they cannot attend or would like to swap their session to a different date. Failure to do so will incur a fee of £50 to cover administration and venue costs. This must be paid prior to attending the re-arranged session.
Deferral of programme
Participants may apply for a deferral in exceptional circumstances for example: Long term / family sickness, bereavement, maternity/paternity leave, or another exceptional reason.
Participants must contact EMLC citing the reason for their deferral and you will be required to complete a deferral request form. Applications for deferring the start of a qualification need to be received 28 days prior to the communicated start date. Requests to defer from the qualification once it has already commenced need to be received in writing as soon as possible and may be subject to additional conditions.
A deferral can be granted for a maximum of 12 months. Participants who decide not to re-engage with their qualification will be subject to EMLC withdrawal terms. Participants who defer and wish to repeat course content (including face-to-face events) may be required to pay additional charges.
Withdrawing from a programme
Participants wishing to withdraw from a programme must complete a withdrawal request form and may be subject to charges and withdrawal fees. Once the programme has commenced refunds cannot normally be given if a participant chooses to withdraw.
Cancellation or deferral of assessment
Where a participant confirms their intention to submit their assessment task and then fails to submit within the set timeframe a cancellation fee of £75 will be levied.
The cancellation fee will be invoiced directly to the individual, who is personally liable for payment. Non-payment of the cancellation fee may result in the individual being prevented from submitting future assessment tasks and they may be withdrawn from the programme.
i. Where a candidate has been informed that they have not met the required standard for the programme they will receive written guidance for their development.
ii. DfE NPQ -Mark Scheme states that two resits of the final assessment are permitted after the first fail, and that three attempts are permitted in total within a two-year period.
iii. The two-year period commences at the point of first fail. It is likely that participants will be given a resubmission date and expected to submit within a reasonable period.
iv. If they wish to re-take the qualification at a later date they must enter a new programme with a new project.
v. The cost of re-assessment will be charged to participants and is payable within 14 days.
vi. The re-submission fee must be paid before the participant can re-submit for assessment.
Participants who have not paid any outstanding charges due to EMLC, will not be permitted to present for assessment.
Please note that by participating in the programme you are agreeing to these charges.
